The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development stated that local governments should accelerate the establishment of an integrated mechanism for urban health check and urban renewal, adhere to the principle of "health check first," scientifically formulate urban renewal plans, ensure planning coordination, and focus on project planning. Local governments should integrate the "monitoring, evaluation, early warning, and feedback" working methods of urban health check into the entire process of urban renewal, evaluate the effectiveness of urban renewal work, comprehensively address the shortcomings and problems identified, and explore the establishment of an urban renewal system and policy framework that adapts to the requirements of high-quality development. 2. The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development stated that since the beginning of this year, 449 cities nationwide have conducted urban health checks. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, through proactive measures, key urban renewal tasks across the country are being implemented more quickly and effectively. More than 240,000 old urban residential communities have been renovated, forming nearly 3,000 complete community models. A total of 840,000 kilometers of underground pipelines for gas, water supply, drainage, sewage, and heating have been renovated. 2,387 urban village renovation projects have been implemented, and more than 6,500 old street blocks and more than 700 old factory areas have been renovated, significantly improving the livability of cities.
