Manufacturing Process of Galvanized Pipe Production Line

2025-11-04

The production of galvanized steel pipes involves several key steps, a central piece of equipment in this process:

  • Material Preparation: Steel strips or coils are prepared as raw materials. These are typically made from carbon steel.

  • Tube Formation: The steel strip is fed into the tube mill, where it is formed into a cylindrical shape through a series of rollers. The edges of the strip are brought together and welded to create a continuous steel tube.

  • Welding: The tube is welded using methods such as Electric Resistance Welding (ERW), creating a strong bond along the seam. The tube is then cut to the required lengths.

  • Galvanization: The formed steel pipes are then cleaned to remove impurities, oil, and grease. This is followed by immersing the pipes in a hot zinc bath, where the zinc coating is applied. The coating adheres to the steel surface, forming a protective layer.

  • Cooling and Inspection: After galvanization, the pipes are cooled and inspected to ensure the coating is uniform and adheres properly. Any defects are corrected before the pipes are prepared for shipment.

  • Final Processing: Depending on customer requirements, additional processes such as threading or painting may be applied.
